Abstract

The content and source of water ice in the permanently shadowed regions of the moon have always been one of the most core issues in lunar science.The detection of water ice in permanently shadowed areas of the moon can provide key resources for the construction and operation of lunar bases.Given the advantages and disadvantages of the existing water ice detection technologies,this paper proposes an in-situ sampling scheme and corresponding workflow for polar lunar soil water ice,and then conducts simulated in-situ heating gas extraction experiments based on this scheme.The experimental results show that the in-situ heating analysis scheme can realize quantitative evaluation of water and water ice content in the simulated water-bearing lunar soil ranging from 0.1%to 2%,confirming the technical feasibility of the proposed scheme and providing useful reference for future lunar soil water ice detection missions.
