Simulation and Analysis of Numbered Flood Events in 2024 in the Downstream of Gaobei Water Control Project in the Hanjiang River Basin

Abstract
In recent years,the frequent occurrence of global flood events has posed a serious threat to the stable development of the economy and society.Reservoir operation is an important measure for flood defense.Taking the six numbered floods in the Hanjiang River Basin in 2024 as the research objects,through the construction of a flood simulation model,the flood processes in the downstream of Gaobei water control project of the basin are simulated and analyzed,and the flood control role of the Gaobei Water Control Project in these six flood events was quantified.The results indicate that for small floods with inflow at the dam site of the project less than 6700 m3/s,the flood control potential of the Gaobei Water Control Project was fully utilized to protect the flood safety of areas with lower flood control standards downstream,such as Gaobei Town.The effectiveness of the project's operation in downstream flood control is influenced by the spatiotemporal variation of rainfall,introducing a certain degree of uncertainty.In the future,improving the accuracy and lead time of rainfall and flood forecasting will be key to scientifically guiding the operation of the project and fully leveraging its flood control benefits.关键词
