Abstract

To investigate the influence of coarse aggregate on the mechanical properties of ultra-high performance concrete(UHPC),the effects of coarse aggregate dosage(10%~30%)and particle size(5~10 mm,10~20 mm,5~20 mm)on the working properties,compressive strength,flexural strength and split tensile properties of UHPC were studied.The results show that,with the increase of coarse aggregate dosing,the working performance of UHPC gradually decreases,the compressive strength and splitting tensile strength show a trend of increasing and then decreasing,and the strength reached the peak when the dosage of coarse aggregate was 20%;The dosing of coarse aggregate has a significant adverse effect on the flexural strength of UHPC which led to a gradual decrease in the folding compression ratio.The tensile compression ratio increases first and then decreases,and the highest tensile compression ratio is found when the coarse aggregate dosage is 20%;the comprehensive performance is optimal when the particle size of the coarse aggregate is 5~20 mm.Reasonable mixing 20%of 5~20 mm coarse aggregate can be prepared with both excellent mechanical properties and economy of UHPC with coarse aggregate.The research results can provide theoretical basis for the optimization of the design of UHPC proportion,balancing the mechanical properties and economy,which can help to promote the application of UHPC with coarse aggregate.
