Correlation Analysis between Body Mass Index and Glucose-lipid Metabolism Indicators in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients with Phlegm-dampness Syndrome

Abstract
Objective To explore the correlation between body mass index(BMI)and glucose-lipid metabolism indicators in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)of phlegm-dampness syndrome.Methods A total of 150 patients with confirmed T2DM of phlegm-dampness syndrome were selected from Department of Endocrinology of Kunming Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were divided into normal group,overweight group,and obese group.The three groups of patients were examined for glucose-lipid metabolism-related indicators.The differences in general data,fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(PBG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting C-peptide(FCP),fasting insulin(FINS),insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)among the three groups were compared.Additionally,the correlation between BMI and glucose-lipid metabolism indicators was analyzed.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 software.Results BMI level was significantly positively correlated with FCP,FINS,and HOMA-IR(P<0.01),and with TG and LDL-C levels(P<0.01)in T2DM patients with phlegm-dampness syndrome,while it was negatively correlated with HDL-C level(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with T2DM of phlegm-dampness syndrome and high BMI have more severe insulin resistance,and their lipid metabolism is more prone to disorder.关键词
