Latent profile analysis of social isolation in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma after iodine-131 treatment and nursing implications

Abstract
Objective:To understand the potential categories and characteristics of social isolation in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated after iodine-131 treatment,and to analyze the influencing factors of different potential categories.Methods:Convenience sampling was used to select differentiated thyroid carcinoma patients treated with iodine-131 after surgery at a tertiary Grade A hospital in Jiangxi province from September to December 2024 as the research subjects.General information survey,Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System-Social Isolation Short Form,Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale,Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale,and Perceived Social Support Scale were used for investigation.Latent profile analysis was conducted using Mplus 8.3 software,and single factor analysis and multiple Logistic regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of social isolation in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated with iodine-131 after surgery.Results:A total of 335 patients were included,of which 158(47.16%)had a sense of social isolation,manifested in three different potential categories,"low social isolation level-positive and optimistic type"(22.09%),"moderate social isolation level-accepting type"(51.64%),and"high social isolation level-anxiety and fear type"(26.27%).Family monthly income level,occupational status,lymph node metastasis,anxiety and depression level,disease uncertainty,and social support level were the influencing factors of social isolation in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated with iodine-131 after surgery.Conclusion:The incidence of social isolation in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma treated with iodine-131 after surgery is relatively high and there are significant group differences.Medical staff need to develop personalized intervention plans based on different characteristics of patients to reduce the level of social isolation.关键词
