Vehicle steering wheel shimmy analysis and optimization during high speed

Abstract
To solve the problem of steering wheel shimmy in a sport utility vehicle during high speed driving,the mechanism and control method of steering wheel shimmy were studied.Establishing a finite element simulation model of the whole vehicle,the modal and vibration transfer function of the whole vehicle were analyzed,and compared with the experimental results to verify the accuracy of the finite element simulation model of the whole vehicle;on this basis,steering wheel shimmy analysis was conducted and the problem was reproduced;the sensitivity method was used to obtain parameters that contribute significantly to steering wheel shimmy.The results showed that parameters such as steering wheel inertia & steering system stiffness and damping & LCA rear bushing stiffness have a significant effect on steering wheel shimmy.Engineering samples were made for physical vehicle road verification,and objective data and subjective assessment showed that the steering wheel shimmy problem was significantly im-proved.The research content provides effective analysis and optimization methods for the control of high speed steering wheel shimmy in vehicles,which has important engineering application significance.关键词
