Abstract
Objective To explore the impact of mindful parenting on parent-child relationship in the mindful parenting mechanism model,and investigate the mediating roles of parental emotional expression and parenting competence.Methods Fathers or mothers of children aged 3 to 10 years were selected as research participants.The mindful parenting scale,parent-child relationship scale,parental emotional expression scale,and parenting competence scale were used for measurement.A total of 580 questionnaires were distributed,and 502 valid questionnaires were obtained.The relevant data were then statistically analyzed.Results Correlation analysis showed that mindful parenting was positively correlated with parental positive emotional expression,parenting competence,and parent-child intimacy,while negatively correlated with parental negative emotional expression and parent-child conflict.Regression analysis revealed that mindful parenting had a significantly positive predictive effect on parental positive emotional expression,parenting competence,and parent-child intimacy(β=0.46,P<0.001;β=0.32,P<0.001;β=0.19,P<0.001),and a significantly negative predictive effect on parental negative emotional expression and parent-child conflict(β=-0.26,P<0.001;β=-0.22,P<0.001).The results of the Bootstrap sampling test indicated that,between mindful parenting and parent-child relationship(including parent-child intimacy and parent-child conflict),the mediating effect of parenting competence was significant(95%CI excluded 0);the chain mediating effect of parental emotional expression(including positive and negative emotions)and parenting competence was significant(95%CI excluded 0);the mediating effect of parental negative emotional expression between mindful parenting and parent-child conflict was significant(95%CI excluded 0).Conclusion Mindful parenting can directly affects the parent-child relationship,and can also indirectly influences the parent-child relationship through the following paths:the independent mediating effect of parenting competence,and the chain mediating effect jointly formed by parental emotional expression and parenting competence.关键词
