青少年颞下颌关节骨结构与年龄相关变化的CBCT分析
CBCT analysis of age-related changes in the bone structure of the temporomandibular joint in adolescents

Abstract
Objective:Cone-beam computed tomography was employed to evaluate age-related changes in the osseous structures of the asymptomatic adolescent temporomandibular joint.Methods:CBCT imaging data from 400 asymptomatic ado-lescent patients at the Stomatological Hospital Affiliated to Xinjiang Medical University were collected between August 2023 and February 2025 to measure and analyze age-related osseous changes of the condyles.Results:Among the 400 cases of con-dylar images of adolescents included,195 were males and 205 were females.Females exhibited significantly earlier condylar cortical bone maturation than males(P<0.05).While adolescents aged 13~15 showed incomplete cortical maturation,the earliest maturation occurred at 16 years in females(25.0%)and 17 years in males(6.1%).Age-related increases were ob-served in supracondylar space,condylar mediolateral/anteroposterior diameters,and glenoid fossa depth(all P<0.05),but not in anterior/posterior joint spaces.Sexual dimorphism was evident,with males demonstrating significantly larger measurements across all condylar parameters(P<0.05).Laterality analysis revealed greater left posterior joint space(P=0.002),while oth-er measurements showed no significant side differences.Conclusion:Adolescents show age and sex differences in condylar cortical bone development and morphology,with bilateral symmetry and stable condyle-fossa positioning.关键词
