Abstract

Compounds containing aromatic rings(especially condensed aromatic rings)are high-value fine organic chemicals.Coal has a natural condensed aromatic ring structure.The directional hydrogenolysis of the chemical bonds connecting the aromatic rings in coal,such as C—O,C—C,C—N and C—S bond,could produce value-added chemicals such as aromatics,achieving the clean and efficient utilization of coal.Currently,the hydrogenolysis of coal has problems such as harsh reaction conditions and low selectivity of aromatics.Therefore,developing new catalytic reaction systems for direct coal liquefaction has significant application value.The key of coal hydrogenolysis lies in the directional hydrogenolysis of chemical bonds.This review systematically discuss the research progress of coal catalytic hydrogenolysis from three aspects,mainly including:1)catalytic hydrogenolysis of C—O bonds(depolymerization of aromatic ether structures in coal);2)catalytic hydrogenolysis of C—C bonds(cleaving of coal macromolecular skeletons);3)catalytic hydrogenolysis of C—S and C—N bonds(desulfurization and denitrogenation,improving product quality).This paper systematically reviews the latest research progress in the design and synthesis of hydrogenolysis catalysts,as well as the structure-activity relationships,and focuses on discussing the hydrogenolysis mechanisms of different chemical bonds(C—O,C—C,C—N,and C—S bonds)and the corresponding catalytic reaction systems.It classifies the current catalysts used,and summarizes the research status of catalytic conversion of coal to produce value-added chemicals such as aromatic,and looks forward to future development directions,providing a reference for the later development of efficient coal direct liquefaction heterogeneous catalysts and related processes.
