Abstract
Obesity is a prevalent metabolic disorder.With socioeconomic development and lifestyle changes,its incidence is rising annually.The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)concept of"preventive treatment of diseases"(zhi wei bing),a core TCM theory,emphasizes prevention as the primary approach and accounts for individual differences.This concept provides a unique theoretical framework and practical methodologies for obesity prevention and management.As a significant branch of TCM in China,the Lingnan medical school possesses distinctive regional characteristics and extensive clinical experience.Over its long-term development,Lingnan practitioners have conducted in-depth research and application of the"preventive treatment of diseases"concept,progressively established a region-specific theoretical system for combating obesity.This review explores the characteristics of the Lingnan medical school in obesity prevention and management based on the TCM"preventive treatment of diseases"concept,aiming to provide a theoretical foundation and valuable reference for current efforts.关键词
