Mendelian randomization study on the relationship between"stimulating food"as shrimp and crab and malignant tumors

Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between stimulating food as shrimp and crab and the risk of malignant tumor by TSMR analysis method.Methods In the OpenGWAS database,the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)that are strongly associated with the exposure factor of stimulating food as shrimp and crab were selected as instrumental variables.GWAS statistics for six cancers(thyroid cancer,gastric cancer,liver cancer,lung cancer,colorectal cancer,breast cancer)from the FinnGen and OpenGWAS databases were used as outcome variables.Inverse-variance weighting(IVW)was used as the primary analysis method,followed by heterogeneity test,pleiotropic analysis,and sensitivity analysis.Results This study included 19 independent SNPs associated with the intake of shrimp and crab as instrumental variables.The IVW analysis showed no statistically significant causal effect between shrimp and crab intake and six types of cancer(P>0.05).The study results were not affected by multiplicity,and sensitivity analysis confirmed the reliability of the results.Conclusion This MR study shows that stimulating food as shrimp and crab has no obvious correlation with malignant tumor.However,due to the lack of data and accuracy,further in-depth research should be carried out to provide a solid evidence-based basis for enriching and improving the theory of TCM.关键词
