Abstract

Propylea japonica,Chrysoperla nipponensis and Folsomia candida are ecologically important non-target organisms that play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and biodiversity.M2CryAb-vip3A,a novel insect-resistant fusion protein designed by Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences,holds significant potential for agricultural pest control.To assess its ecological safety for non-target organisms,the M2CryAb-vip3A protein was prepared and purified with the purity at 85.0%to treat the adults of the three above-mentioned species in this study.A comprehensive evaluation of the protein's potential effects on their growth,develop-ment,and reproduction was conducted by systematically measuring adult mortality,pre-oviposition period,total egg production,body weight,and body length.The results showed that after M2CryAb-vip3A treatment,the sur-vival rates of P.japonica,C.nipponensis,and F.candida adults were(96.67±0.00)%,(96.67±3.33)%and(91.67±0.00)%,respectively.Furthermore,no significant differences were observed between the treatment groups and the negative control group in terms of pre-oviposition period,total egg production,or body weight.These results demonstrated that M2CryAb-vip3A posed no significant safety risks to P.japonica,C.nipponensis,or F.candida,with no adverse effects on their growth,development,or reproductive capacity.These findings pro-vided critical data support for the ecological safety assessment of the M2CryAb-vip3A insecticidal fusion protein and established a theoretical foundation for optimizing sustainable agricultural pest management strategies.
