Abstract
Copper extraction is a critical step in hydrometallurgical copper production,and the selection of extraction equipment along with research on its application effectiveness is vital for stable extraction operations.To address the high impurity content in the extraction feed solution,a mining enterprise adopted Outotec VSF®X novel vertical steady-flow extraction equipment for its extraction system.Given the limited global application precedents for this equipment and its significant differences from traditional extraction devices,substantial entrainment of the aqueous phase by the organic phase occurred during trial production,leading to issues such as disruption of the smelter's water balance and quality decline of cathode copper in the electrowinning workshop.This study aims to optimize operational parameters through measures including agitation parameter optimization,modification of the aqueous phase reflux pipeline,and adjustment of acid concentration in the wash water.These improvements successfully reduced the aqueous phase entrainment rates to 1.42‰ and 3.70‰under different processes(two-stage extraction with two-stage stripping and one-stage washing,and high-low copper extraction with one-stage stripping and one-stage washing)across two workshops,achieving reductions of 56.71%and 43.94%respectively.The findings provide valuable references for the broader application and promotion of this industrial-scale extraction equipment.关键词
