Abstract
This study investigates the reaction mechanisms of hydrogenation for fatty acid methyl esters(FAMEs)with different carbon numbers to produce fatty alcohols.The performance of single-component FAMEs,binary mixed FAMEs,and natural coconut-derived methyl esters in hydrogenation reactions was systematically analyzed.The effects of temperature and pressure on conversion rate and selectivity were also examined.The results indicate that low-carbon FAMEs preferentially convert at lower temperatures,while high carbon FAMEs require higher temperatures and pressures to achieve higher conversion rates.In the mixed system,the conversion rate of low-carbon FAMEs is inhibited by high carbon FAMEs,but the conversion rate of high carbon FAMEs is improved.The competition mechanism of reaction pathways indicates that the main reaction pathways are direct hydrogenation of FAMEs to generate fatty alcohols,ester exchange of fatty alcohols with unreacted FAMEs to generate wax esters,further reaction of wax esters with methanol to generate FAMEs,and hydrogenation decomposition of wax esters into fatty alcohols under harsh reaction conditions.The four pathways interact with each other under different reaction systems.High pressure conditions are conducive to the formation of fatty alcohols and inhibit the formation of wax esters.关键词
