低时延层次编码结构的联合率失真优化
Joint rate distortion optimisation framework for low delay hierarchical coding structures

Abstract
The traditional RDO methods are generally based on the assumption that the inter-frame coding units are independent with each other,and fail to fully explore the interdependence of inter-frame image coding.The inter-frame dependences are much tighter in low delay(LD)coding structures.The coding efficiency can be greatly improved by considering the inter-frame dependences.In view of the above,a joint RDO framework that considers the inter-frame dependences is proposed on the basis of LD frame structure.In the framework,Lagrange multiplier is regarded as one of the parameters to be optimized,and the methods of alternately optimizing quantization parameter(QP)and Lagrange multiplier are designed,so as to find the optimized relationship between Lagrange multiplier and QP based on the cost of rate distortion.The optimized Lagrangian multiplier and QP model are proposed on the basis of the structure obtained by alternating iteration method.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm reaches convergence by two iterations under an LD hierarchical coding structure,saving 3.49%of the code rate despite the increase of coding time.The proposed Lagrange multiplier and QP model save 2.46%of the code rate.In comparison with the original encoder,the coding time is saved somewhat.The proposed method is effective for video compression in practical application.关键词
