Abstract

To reduce the reliance on high quality leaves in middle tobacco stalk position in traditional cigarette blending and to promote the balance of supply and demand of tobacco leaves from different regions,grades and stalk positions,the scores of low-temperature pyrolytic substances and fibrous substances in tobacco leaves used for gradeⅠand Ⅱ cigarette production of China Tobacco Fujian Industrial Co.,Ltd.were determined through thermal analysis.Combined with the numerical simulation of cigarette combustion,the tobacco leaves were classified according to their quality and combustion characteristics,and the visual expression of tobacco compatibility was formed,based on which further application validation cases were conducted.The results showed that:1)A nine-grid coordinate system could be divided into strong(regions 4,7,8),medium(regions 1,5,9)and weak(regions 2,3,6)combustion regions and high(regions 1,2,3),medium(regions 4,5,6)and low(regions 7,8,9)quality regions.2)In the application case,the adjusted cigarette blending scored 72 points for fibrous substances and 60 for low-temperature pyrolytic substances,meeting the design requirements.3)The changes in the contents of conventional chemical components and the releases of smoke components before and after the adjustment were relatively small,ensuring tobacco blend consistency.4)The mass proportion of upper-stalk leaves in the adjusted tobacco blend increased significantly,while the proportion of middle-stalk leaves from non-core production areas was raised,alleviating structural contradictions.This research can enhance the use value of tobacco leaves,optimize cigarette blending,reduce production costs and achieve sustainable development.
