Abstract
Targeting beam alignment and tracking challenges in mobile millimeter-wave communications,this paper designs and implements a reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)-based beam tracking system operating at 28 GHz.The system integrates an RIS with dual-ended four-channel phased arrays,establishing a closed-loop architecture encompassing signal generation,RIS phase control,power feedback,and optimization.An improved hierarchical beam scanning algorithm is proposed to mitigate power observation noise and main lobe misidentification in mobile environments.Indoor experiments show that the system achieves approximately 20 dB received power gain within the main bandwidth compared to non-RIS configurations or conventional hierarchical scanning,with substantially reduced in-band fluctuations.Mean I/Q amplitude doubles,and constellation diagrams evolve from scattered to well-clustered patterns.The results demonstrate that RIS spatial focusing and the proposed algorithm effectively improve alignment efficiency and tracking stability for mobile millimeter-wave applications.关键词
