Spectral Efficiency Analysis of Multi-RIS-Aided Wireless Power Transfer in CF-mMIMO Systems with Hardware Impairments

Abstract
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RIS)have demonstrated significant potential in wireless power transfer(WPT)systems by enhancing both harvested energy and spectral efficiency(SE).This study investigates the SE of RIS-aided cell-free massive MIMO(CF-mMIMO)systems for wireless power transfer under hardware impairments.A closed-form expression for the uplink SE is derived using large-scale fading decoding.Simulation results reveal that as the number of access points increases,the impact of hardware impairments on the SE of user equipment(UE)becomes more pronounced.Consequently,equipping UE with high-quality hardware components is critical for practical deployments.Notably,the integration of RIS not only boosts harvested energy and SE but also offers the potential to significantly reduce hardware and energy costs.关键词
