Overview of functional claims,laws,and regulations of food-medicine homology health products in Australia

Abstract
Against the backdrop of an intensifying aging population,sustained economic growth,and a rising number of sub-health individuals,food-medicine homology health products have emerged as vital components of daily diets.These products also demonstrate multifaceted health benefits,including nutritional regulation,delaying the progression of chronic diseases,enhancing immunity,and supporting adjuvant therapy.Australia has established a relatively mature functional claim management system,implementing tiered regulatory oversight based on product risk levels.Novel foods are evaluated for ingredient safety and consumption history by Food Standards Australia New Zealand(FSANZ),while listed health products fall under the supervision of the Therapeutic Goods Administration(TGA).Functional claims are permitted only when supported by corresponding scientific evidence.This mechanism provides institutional support and developmental space for product research,development,and functional promotion.It offers valuable insights for advancing the standardized management and functional claim system construction of food-medicine homology health products in China.关键词
