摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and infection related factors of ocular toxocariasis in children. Methods A total of 62 children with eye diseases who were admitted to the pediatric fundus Department of Henan Provincial People's Hospital from February 2018 to February 2022 and had vision loss, strabismus, white pupils, and sudden blindness as the main symptoms were selected as the research object(eye disease group).According to the results of comprehensive eye examination, serum Toxocara canis IgG antibody detection, aqueous humor antibody detection, and eye imaging examination, the children with eye disease group were divided into infected group(n=40)and non-infected group(n=22),and the healthy children in the community(n=30)were included as the control group. The general data characteristics of the control group and the ocular disease group, the general data characteristics of the infected group and the non-infected group were compared, and the factors related to the occurrence of ocular toxocariasis were analyzed by single factor analysis.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of children with ocular toxocariasis. Results There were no statistically significant differences in age or sex distribution between the ocular disease group and the control group(P>0.05).Hand hygiene practices, recent contact with dogs, and food contamination exposure differed significantly between the two groups(P<0.05).Similarly,no significant differences in age or sex were found between the infected and non-infected groups(P>0.05),whereas hand hygiene practices, recent contact with dogs, and food contamination exposure showed significant differences(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that recent dog contact history and dietary pollution were the risk factors for toxocariasis infection in ophthalmic dogs(OR=2.395,2.521,P<0.05),while good hand hygiene habits were the protective factors(OR=0.505,P<0.001).The incidences of decreased visual acuity, vitreous opacity, and tractional retinal detachment were higher in the infection group than in the non-infected group(P<0.05).Conclusion Decreased visual acuity, vitreous opacity, and tractional retinal detachment are typical clinical features of ocular toxocariasis.Recent dog exposure and dietary pollution exposure are the risk factors of ocular toxocariasis in children, while good hand hygiene habits are the protective factors.Targeted preventive measures should be taken to reduce the risk of infection.关键词
