Abstract
Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of azithromycin combined with ambroxol hydrochloride in children with mycoplasma pneumonia and its effects on pulmonary and immune function. Methods Eighty-six hospitalized children with mycoplasma pneumonia admitted to Tianjin Children's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2024 were randomized by a random number table into a control group(n=43)and a study group(n=43).The control group received azithromycin according to disease severity:oral azithromycin dry suspension for mild cases and intravenous azithromycin infusion for severe cases. The study group received the same azithromycin regimen plus ambroxol hydrochloride.Outcomes included overall response rate, times to clinical recovery(length of hospital stay, time to resolution of cough/rales,and time to defervescence),pulmonary function, immune function, and adverse reactions.Pulmonary function indices were maximum voluntary ventilation(MVV),forced vital capacity(FVC),and forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1).Immune indices were CD3+T cells,CD4+T cells, and CD8+T cells. Results The overall response rate was higher in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).The study group had shorter hospital stays and shorter times to disappearance of cough/rales and to defervescence than the control group(P<0.05).After 1 week of treatment,MVV,FVC,and FEV1 increased in both groups and were higher in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).After 1 week,CD3+and CD4+T-cell levels increased and CD8+T-cell levels decreased in both groups;CD3+and CD4+levels were higher and CD8+levels were lower in the study group than in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions did not differ significantly between groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Azithromycin combined with ambroxol hydrochloride improves clinical efficacy in children with mycoplasma pneumonia, accelerates symptom resolution, and promotes recovery of pulmonary and immune function, without increasing treatment-related risk.关键词
