Abstract

In order to investigate the association between polymorphisms in the g.895771C>T locus of the UST gene and the growth traits in Sangsang yaks,180 Sangsang yaks were used in this study,and the g.895771C>T locus of the UST gene was amplified by PCR,and SNP typing was performed by using the PARMS technique,and the association of different genotypes with body weight,height,length and chest circumference traits was analysed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 software.The results showed that there were three genotypes of CC,CT and TT in the g.895771C>T locus of the UST gene in the Sangsang yak,of which T was the dominant allele and TT was the dominant genotype;the g.895771C>T locus belonged to a low polymorphic locus and was in the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium state(P>0.05);individuals of CT genotype in the UST gene of the Sangsang yak were significantly higher in weight,length and chest circumference than those of CC genotype(P<0.05),and TT genotype individuals had significantly higher body height than CC genotype(P<0.05).In conclusion,mutations in the g.895771C>T locus of the UST gene significantly im-proved growth traits in yaks and can be used as potential molecular genetic markers for growth traits in Sangsang yaks.
