Abstract
In order to assess the performance of different brands of ELISA kits and colloidal gold test strips for rabies virus antibodies,90 canine clinical serum samples were detected using 3 brands of ELISA kits and 4 colloidal gold test strips to analyze the differences of their parameters such as sensitivity,specificity,compliance rate and consistency,taking the results of fluorescent antibody virus neutralization(FAVN)test as a standard.The results showed that the sensitivity was high for both ELISA kits and colloidal gold strips,ranging within 88.0％to 100％and 78％to 100％,respectively;the specificity of different ELISA kits ranged from 45.0％to 87.5％,with compliance rate of 75.6％to 87.8％,while for the colloidal gold strips,these were 15.0％to 75.0％and 62.2％to 81.1％,respectively;the compliance rate was high when samples with high neutralizing antibody titers were detected by all the 7 reagents,ranged within 93.1％to 100％for those with antibody titers ≥ 1.00 IU/mL,but greatly different for those of 0.10 to 0.49 IU/mL,5.3％,15.8％and 73.7％by the 3 brands of ELISA kits,respectively,while 5.3％,36.8％,36.8％and 63.2％by the 4 colloidal gold strips,respectively;and Kappa test revealed that the consistency was different,remaining the highest in ELISA kit C(0.753),followed by strip E(0.607),and the lowest in strip G(0.164).In conclusion,different reagents presented different performance to certain extent,it was recommended to select highly efficient and reliable reagents for monitoring the level of rabies immunization in dogs in clinical practice.关键词
