Abstract
Canine cardiopulmonary disease is one of the significant diseases in middle-aged and elderly dogs,with clinical symptoms mainly characterized by nocturnal coughing,wheezing and recurrent attacks.The pathological basis of canine cardiopulmonary disease is pulmonary hypertension,and some cases show poor response to western veterinary drugs.From the perspective of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine,canine cardiopulmonary disease falls under the categories of chest obstruction and wheezing.Based on years of clinical experience,the author had found that the treatment with traditional Chinese veterinary medicine could yield remarkable results.In April 2025,a case of canine cardiopulmonary disease was diagnosed and treated remotely via the Internet.Through remote online video consultation and physical examination,and analysis of the offline hospital examination results,the disease was diagnosed as cough and wheezing.The syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine identified the condition as deficiency of heart and lung Qi,Qi stagnation and blood stasis,and internal obstruction by phlegm and dampness.The treatment approach included methods such as relieving cough and wheezing,nourishing the heart and benefiting Qi,promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,diuresis and reducing edema,and strengthening the spleen and stomach.According to the syndrome differentiation and treatment principles of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine,an oral granule prescription was prescribed.After three courses of treatment lasting 42 days,the dog's cough and wheezing symptoms disappeared,and its appetite and mental state recovered well.The pet owner was very satisfied with the treatment outcome.The successful diagnosis and treatment of this case demonstrated that remote video consultation and diagnosis in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine had significant advantages in the management of chronic diseases in dogs.It can also provide new ideas for solving problems such as difficulty and high cost in pet medical care,and broaden the clinical treatment model for chronic diseases in dogs.关键词
