Abstract

To develop a precision control strategy for the oriental fruit fly Bactrocera dorsalis based on multispectral light interference,we investigated the phototactic responses of B.dorsalis adults at differ-ent reproductive stages(3-5 d after eclosion and unmated,mated but non-oviposition,and peak oviposi-tion)using multispectral and monochromatic phototaxis test devices.In addition,the dynamic effects of short-term and long-term exposure to different filtered wavelengths on mating rate and fecundity were also analyzed.The results showed that,under multispectral condition,both females and males exhibited significant preferences for yellow(572 nm)and green(536 nm)light across all three reproductive stages,but weak phototaxis toward red(620 nm),violet(560 nm)and blue(475 nm)light;female flies showed a clear diurnal rhythm in preference for yellow,green,red and violet light.Under monochro-matic filtered light conditions,both sexes displayed the strongest phototaxis preference to yellow light,with enhanced responses after mating and oviposition.At peak oviposition,phototaxis rates reached 91.2%in females and 82.2%in males.However,neither short-term nor long-term exposure to different light colors significantly affected mating rate or fecundity.These results suggest that light color primar-ily regulates the phototactic behavior of B.dorsalis flies,rather than directly interfering with their repro-ductive physiology.
