Abstract

Objective:Due to the application of chemical fertilizers and other factors,cultivation regions of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort.(Chuanxiong)were facing challenges such as reduced yield,declining quality,and excessive cadmium accumulation,which needed integrated cultivation measures for improvement.Methods:In this study,an orthogonal experimental design(L9)involving organic fertil-izer(A),chemical fertilizer(B),and microbial inoculant(C)was conducted to evaluate agronomic traits,yield,active ingredient content,and cadmium levels in Chuanxiong.Results:The results revealed that the optimal fertilization combinations differed by target trait.High-dose organic fertilizer(A3)was identified as a common key factor contributing to increased yield,improved agronomic performance,and cadmi-um mitigation,with A3B3C1 being the optimal combination.In contrast,low-input treatment(A3B3C1)most effectively enhanced the intrinsic medicinal quality,including active ingredients and extractable matter.Microbial inoculant(C)showed limited influence on most parameters,and ethanol-soluble extract content was relatively unresponsive to fertilization regimes.Conclusion:For practical application,producers may choose between 13 500 kg·hm-2 organic fertilizer+900 kg·hm-2 compound fertilizer+30 kg·hm-2 microbial inoculant to prioritize high yield and low cadmium accumulation,or 4 500 kg·hm-2 organic fertilizer+300 kg·hm-2 compound fertilizer+30 kg·hm-2 microbial inoculant to emphasize superior medicinal quality.This study demonstrates that fertilization strategies exert differential effects depending on production objectives,thereby providing technical support for the green ands sustainable production of Chuanxiong.
