Tiaoren Tongdu Therapy in Treating Premature Ovarian Insufficiency with Kidney Deficiency and Liver Depression Pattern

Abstract
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of cyclical acupuncture-medication combination therapy based on the Tiaoren Tongdu Theory for premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)with kidney deficiency and liver depression pattern.Methods:Eighty patients with POI of kidney deficiency and liver depression pattern who met the inclusion criteria were selected and randomly divided into an observation group(received treatment of Tiaoren Tongdu acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine)and a conventional acupuncture-medication group(received treatment of conventional acupuncture combined with Chinese herbal medicine)using a random number table,with 40 cases in each group.Treatment was administered over 3 menstrual cycles.During the treatment,2 cases dropped out from the observation group and 1 case from the conventional acupuncture-medication group.Results:Both groups showed decreased FSH and LH levels,increased AMH and E2 levels,increased endometrial thickness(EMT),decreased uterine artery resistance(RI)and TCM syndrome scores,and increased antral follicle count(AFC)after treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the conventional acupuncture-medication group,the observation group showed lower FSH levels and TCM syndrome scores,higher AMH levels,increased endometrial thickness(EMT),and increased antral follicle count(AFC)(P<0.05)after the treatment.The total clinical effective rate in the observation group was 86.84%(33/38),significantly higher than that in the conventional acupuncture-medication group,which was 76.92%(30/39)(P<0.05).No serious adverse events occurred during treatment,with only 2 cases experiencing mild adverse reactions(dizziness)during acupuncture,which resolved after rest.Conclusion:Tiaoren Tongdu Therapy can effectively regulate sex hormone levels,improve TCM clinical symptoms,and has fewer adverse reactions in patients with POI of kidney deficiency and liver depression pattern.关键词
