Abstract

Research on biomass co-firing applications in CFB boilers at refining and chemical enterprises was conducted,addressing the challenges of significant load fluctuations,diverse fuel types,and high pollutant content in these boilers.The basic situation of the CFB boiler,the existing fuel forms,and the process flow were mainly introduced.Nearby biomass fuel that met the standards was selected,and an industrial analysis was conducted.Meanwhile,the petroleum coke fuel used during the co-firing test was analyzed to ensure the fuel properties stability.Based on field conditions,a biomass co-firing plan was formulated.The test boiler load was set at 320 t/h,with a total biomass input of approximately 1 300 t over a 13-day trial period.Biomass was fed and co-fired in stages at mass ratios of 13%(6.5 t/h),16%(8 t/h),and 20%(10 t/h).Each operating condition was maintained for 36 hours to observe the boiler performance and the changes in the flue gas/ash composition.During the co-firing process,the biomass fuel had strong fluidity.After adding a baffle plate at the outlet of the coal feed car,the biomass conveying flow rate could be stably maintained at 60 to 70 t/h.During the biomass transportation,the on-site dust significantly impacted the surrounding environment.Dust issues were mitigated by halting electric vibration,covering coal,strengthening sealing,and adding spray and dust re-moval systems.Increasing the proportion of biomass co-firing has no significant impact on the boiler's operating parameters,compliance with emission standards,or the boiler itself.The maximum proportion of biomass co-fir-ing can reach up to 30%.During the test,except for a slight increase in the concentrations of particulate mat-ter,non-methane total hydrocarbons,and hydrogen chloride at the flue gas outlet,all other pollutant indicators remained unchanged and were at a relatively low level overall,which could achieve compliance with emission standards.Through economic accounting,this biomass co-firing test can reduce CO2 emissions by 1 965 tons,lower fuel costs by 4.822×104 yuan,and save carbon compliance costs by 8.25×104 yuan.
