Abstract

The Permian marine mud shale reservoirs in the northern Sichuan area exhibit enormous develop-ment potential,yet current research on their reservoir characteristics remains relatively limited.By analyzing testing and logging data of the Permian Dalong Formation marine shale in this area,this study systematically investigates the organic geochemistry,mineral composition,physical properties,gas-bearing capacity,and pore structure characteristics of the shale,and summarizes the development patterns and features of the shale reservoir.The results indicate that the Dalong Formation shale is characterized by high organic matter con-tent,with the organic matter in an over-mature stage that has generated abundant gas.The shale contains high proportions of quartz and carbonate minerals,demonstrating favorable brittleness.Pore types are domi-nated by organic pores,with mesopores and micropores being the primary sizes.Additionally,the organic matter content significantly influences pore development and structure:higher organic matter content corre-lates with more developed organic pores,a greater proportion of mesopores and micropores,and a larger specific surface area,all of which enhance natural gas adsorption.This research clarifies the basic charac-teristics of the Permian marine shale reservoirs in Chuanbei,providing valuable guidance for subsequent shale gas exploration in the region.
