The Impact and Mechanism of Digital Technology Innovation on Total Factor Energy Efficiency

Abstract
Based on panel data from 30 provinces(regions)in China from 2012 to 2022,this study em-ploys the non-radial Super-SBM method to calculate total factor energy efficiency(TEE)and focuses on the mechanism through which digital technology innovation influences total factor energy efficiency.It reveals the intermediary transmission chain of"digital technology innovation-rationalization of industrial structure-total factor energy efficiency"and analyzes the dynamic regulatory mechanism through which the low-carbonization of energy consumption structure affects the impact of digital technology innovation on total factor energy efficiency.Empirical results show that digital technology innovation can signifi-cantly improve TEE.After endogeneity treatment and robustness tests,this conclusion remains valid.Furthermore,in provinces with higher levels of regional innovation and industrialization,the promotional effect of digital technology innovation on total factor energy efficiency is more pronounced.Additional-ly,the mechanism analysis indicates that digital technology innovation indirectly improves TEE by pro-moting industrial structure rationalization,and the low-carbonization of energy consumption structure plays a positive regulatory role in the relationship between digital technology innovation and total factor energy efficiency.The study provides empirical evidence for the precise design of digital technology inno-vation policies under the"dual carbon"goals,emphasizing the need to deepen sustainable development objectives through regional collaboration,industrial upgrading,and low-carbon institutional innovation.关键词
