Abstract

Objective To examine the mediating role of decent work perception of nurses in neurology department in organizational climate perception and thriving at work.Methods Convenience sampling was used to select 735 nurses in neurology department from 10 hospitals in Chengdu between February and June 2024,and the nurses were surveyed by using the Thriving at Work Scale,Decent Work Perception Scale and Nurses'Organizational Climate Perception Scale.Results The overall score of thriving at work of nurses in neurology department was 52.22±10.37,indicating a moderate level.Thriving at work was positively correlated with both organizational climate perception and decent work perception(r=0.652,r=0.633,both P<0.01).Decent work perception partially mediated the relationship between organizational climate perception and thriving at work,accounting for 37.99%of the total effect.Conclusion The level of thriving at work needs to be improved in nurses in neurology department.Taking decent work perception as a key strategy,hospital managers should implement targeted interventions to boost nurses'professional pride and sense of value,there-by fostering a supportive and comfortable work environment to enhance thriving at work.
