New missions and historical role of forestry economic development in Chinese modernization process
摘要
Abstract
Chinese modernization is characterized by massive population scale, common prosperity for all,and harmony between humanity and nature. In this process, forestry economy has transcended the traditional scope of timber production and has been endowed with multiple strategic missions:safeguarding national ecological security, driving rural revitalization, promoting coordinated regional development, and preserving ecological culture. This paper systematically elucidated the threefold new missions of forestry economy in the new era:serving as a guardian and value-added contributor in ecological civilization construction, acting as a driver and enabler in rural revitalization, and functioning as a facilitator and coordinator in common prosperity. To fulfill these missions, the paper proposesd advancing systemic reforms across four dimensions:adhering to a systems approach to promote industrial integration, strengthening technological innovation to drive smart forestry, improving policy systems to optimize institutional supply, and advancing governance modernization to enhance management efficacy.Furthermore, the article emphasized that the discipline of forestry economics must urgently undergo reconstruction—shifting from a productivist paradigm to an eco-humanities paradigm, expanding from forest management to holistic ecological-economic governance, and evolving from a technical tool to a strategic think tank.Such disciplinary innovation will support the high-quality development of forestry economy and contribute green momentum to Chinese modernization.关键词
