Efficient Extraction of in situ Modified Lignin by Alkylphenol-maleic Anhydride Complex/Microwave Coupling and Its Antioxidant Properties

Abstract
In this study,alkylphenol-maleic anhydride complex was used as an efficient solvent for lignin,and lignocellulose was used as raw material,supplemented by microwave heating process to achieve efficient separation and extraction of novel in situ modified lignin.The influences of treatment temperature,treatment time,phenol species,and lignocellulose type on the yield of in situ modified lignin were investigated.Taking poplar lignocellulose as an example,the extraction rate of in situ modified lignin by o-cresol-maleic anhydride reached 93.8%and the yield was 19.8%after microwave treatment at 150 ℃ for 15 min.The hydroxyl content and chemical structure of the extracted lignin were characterized and analyzed by 31P NMR and 2D HSQC NMR spectroscopy,respectively.The results showed that the efficient dissolution of lignin by alkylphenol-maleic anhydride was accompanied by different degrees of phenolic and carboxyl modification,which prevented the repolymerization of lignin molecules.Due to the coupling of micro wave efficient heating process,the esterification grafting rate of maleic anhydride to lignin was low in a short time,resulting in lignin with higher phenolic hydroxyl content and lower carboxyl/alcohol hydroxyl content.Compared with commercial antioxidants,the novel in situ modified lignin exhibited stronger scavenging ability for DPPH·,indicating that the lignin had better antioxidant capacity.关键词
