Fuzzy multi-objective optimization for micro fire station location on university campuses using the walrus algorithm

Abstract
Existing studies on fire station siting and optimization,while providing qualitative and quantitative multi-perspective support for decision-making,exhibits several limitations.These include a susceptibility to subjective interference,a strong dependence on data integrity,and difficulty in achieving a dynamic balance among efficiency,cost,and risk.Furthermore,they demonstrate inadequacies in computational complexity,convergence speed,and the attainment to multi-objective optimal solutions.To address these shortcomings in the context of micro fire station siting on university campuses,this paper proposes a fuzzy multi-objective optimization method based on Walrus Optimization Algorithm(WaOA).Initially,a fuzzy multi-objective model for campus micro fire station location was established.Subsequently,a model-solving algorithm and the corresponding Walrus Algorithm-based optimization procedure were designed.This method was then ap-plied to a case study for experimental validation at a university campus in Sichuan Province,where the model's convergence was also analyzed through simulation.Additionally,a comparative analysis was con-ducted,evaluating the proposed algorithm against the NSGA-II,IMOPSO,L2I-DRLA,and M2FEAD al-gorithms using Hypervolume,Spacing,Ω-dominance,and IGD metrics.The experimental results that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the reference algorithms in terms of performance indicators,run-time,and coverage.It demonstrates a superior global search capability,effectively avoids local optima,and converges rapidly to high-quality solutions.关键词
