Abstract

To address the issues of high power transmission loss and poor system adaptability in the engines matched with wheeled excavators,a dedicated power take-off(PTO)unit was innovatively designed at the rear end of the engine,based on its original structural configuration.This design enabled the engine to simultaneously drive both the piston pump hydraulic system and the transmission.Systematic full-machine testing and verification showed that this PTO unit performs excellently in several key performance indicators:In the thermal balance test,the maximum temperature of the engine coolant remained below 93 ℃,meeting the heat dissipation design requirements of the entire machine;In the climbing test under combinations of different gears and slopes,the entire machine successfully passed all tests in one go;under high-speed driving conditions,when the transmission was set to the highest gear and the engine operated at rated speed,the maximum speed of the machine reached 30 km/h;in the 6 000 h reliability test conducted in accordance with actual operating specifications,the engine equipped with this PTO unit achieved fault-free operation.The test results indicated that the PTO unit met the design expectations in terms of power transmission efficiency,thermal management performance,working condition adaptability,and long-term reliability.It not only effectively resolved the power loss and adaptability issues of the original system but also helped customers achieve significant cost savings in matching components,thus possessing important engineering application value.
