Medicine Carrying Dao and Dao Manifested via Medicine:On Relationship Between Yi-ology,Confucianism,Taoism,Buddhism and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract
This paper explores the profound connections between the Yi-ology,Confucianism,Taoism,Buddhism and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),revealing how TCM,as an important carrier of Chinese culture,integrates the essence of various ideological systems to form a unique medical system.The core connection between the Yi-ology and TCM lies in the"image-number"thinking rather than merely the"image"thinking.TCM is an application of the Yi-ology's image-number model.Confucianism and TCM share a high degree of consistency in the values of"kindheartedness"and the"benevolence"ontology,and the development of the Confucian physician group has promoted the integration of medicine with ethics and philosophy.Taoism has enriched TCM's view of life through health-preservation practices and the theory of"essence,qi,and spirit"in the Daoist alchemy,and has been highly integrated with TCM.Buddhism has provided TCM with methods for psychological adjustment,emphasizing the harmony of the mind and body.This paper proposes the viewpoint of"medicine carrying the Dao,and the Dao manifested via medicine",arguing that the essence of TCM is"culture as the essence,medicine as the application",and the value pursuit of TCM,"following the laws of yin and yang and harmonizing with the techniques and numbers",embodies the"Dao"of Chinese culture's"yin-yang harmony".TCM is not only a"technique"for treating diseases and saving lives,but also the"Dao"of Chinese civilization.关键词
