Abstract
Objective:To investigate the risk factors of ischemic stroke(IS)associated with non-neurological malignan-cies.Methods:A single-center retrospective cohort study was performed.The study included 3,837 IS patients admitted to the Department of Neurology,People's Hospital of Jianyang,between January 2022 and June 2024.Data on demographics,laboratory findings,clinical features,and cerebrovascular risk factors were collected.Based on the diagnosis of non-neuro-logical malignant tumors before the onset of IS or during hospitalization,patients were divided into two groups:a tumor-asso-ciated IS group(n=56)and a control group(n=3,781).A multivariate logistic regression model was performed to iden-tify the independent risk factors for non-neurological malignant tumor-associated IS.Results:Among patients with IS related to non-neurological malignancies,lung cancer was the most prevalent,followed by colorectal and esophageal cancers.The univariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses revealed that elevated D-dimer(OR=32.835)and fibrinogen(OR=7.458)were independent risk factors,whereas total cholesterol(TC)(OR=0.185)was a protective factor for IS associated with non-neurological malignancies.Conclusion:This study identifies D-dimer and fibrinogen as independent risk factors,and TC as a protective factor,for IS in patients with extraneural malignancies.Actively addressing hypercoagulability and proactively monitoring blood lipids may help reduce the incidence of IS in this patient population.关键词
