A Coordinated Optimization Method for Annual Maintenance and Generation of Run-of-River Hydropower Station Considering Short-term Peak Regulating Flexibility

Abstract
To address the multi-objective conflicts between water spillage loss,insufficient peak regulating capacity,and base load deficiency in the annual maintenance scheduling of run-of-river hydropower stations,a coordinated optimization method that integrates statistical analysis and intelligent algorithms is proposed for determining the optimal maintenance period of the units awaiting maintenance and the best operation mode of non-maintenance units of the hydropower station in a year,by using a statistical quantile envelope method to extract the base load component and quantify the available peaking energy based on historical generation curves,and adopting a multi-population cooperative-evolutionary ant colony optimization algorithm to jointly optimize the maintenance schedule and generation plan.The optimal joint optimization plan for annual maintenance plan and power generation plan of hydropower station is obtained by using the improved algorithm which divides the ant colony into ordinary and elite groups and enhance the both local exploitation and global exploration through dual pheromone updating and diffusion mechanisms.The simulation results of an operational large hydropower station demonstrate that the proposed method can significantly reduce the water spillage and base load shortage caused by maintenance activities,effectively ensure that the operating units have sufficient peak regulating capacity,and greatly lowers the overall annual operating cost of the hydropower station.关键词
