Abstract

Sediment deposition in urban drainage tunnels can impair drainage efficiency and structural safety.Understanding deposition characteristics and developing rational sediment removal strategies are crucial for ma-intenance.Taking the Qianhai-Nanshan integrated deep tunnel drainage system in Shenzhen(QNDTS)as a case study,a sediment deposition model was constructed using the Ackers-White module in InfoWorks ICM software to analyze the characteristics of sediment deposition after 1,5 and 10 years of operation.The simula-tion results show that most of the sediments can be removed through the interceptor and some sediment can be discharged through the terminal hub pump station.The remaining sediments are mainly deposited in the shal-low branch tunnels and sediment settling ponds,very small amount is silted in the main tunnel.The simulation results are in agreement with physical model,the study can provide technical basis for optimizing the design and operation maintenance of deep tunnel dredging.
