Abstract

Celaomiao uranium deposit is one of the two uranium deposits discovered in the Yingen-Ejin basin,with a complex mineralization process.Defining its mineralization characteristics and mineralization model is of great significance for advancing the research on uranium mineralization theory and guiding uranium prospecting and exploration in Yingen-Ejin basin.Based on the summary of previous studies on the geological characteristics and metallogenic conditions of Celaomiao uranium deposit,a comprehensive research was conducted on its ore-controlling factors,genetic mechanism,and metallogenic model.The results indicate that the main uranium-bearing horizons(the middle and upper members of the Bayingobi formation)in Celaomiao uranium deposit developed alluvial fan-fan delta-lacustrine sediments sequentially from the periphery to the center of the depression.Favorable uranium metallogenic locations are distributed in areas with well-developed sand bodies or enriched reducing media,including the braided channels,inter-fan areas,and fan-edge depressions in the middle part of alluvial fans;distributary channels in fan delta plains;subaqueous distributary channels in fan delta fronts;and shore-shallow lacustrine facies.Uranium mineralization is jointly controlled by uranium sources,structures,and reducing media.The uranium sources are mainly derived from the Caledonian.Variscan granites and the Mesoproterozoic Zhartai group on the southeastern margin of the depression;the uranium deposit occurs in special positions of faults and folds;and uranium mineralization is closely associated with carbonaceous debris.Uranium metallogenesis is characterized by multi-stage and multi-period processes,involving sedimentary pre-enrichment metallogenesis in the middle Early Cretaceous,hydrothermal transformation in the late Early Cretaceous,and supergene leaching metallogenesis after the Paleogene.Accordingly,a superimposed polygenetic uranium metallogenic model for the Celaomiao uranium deposit has been established.
