Abstract

Water-soluble fluoride in soil was a critical indicator for assessing soil contamination and ecological risks.To address the issues of inadequate temperature control and unstable extraction efficiency caused by sample agglomeration during ultrasonication extraction,this study optimized the conventional ultrasonic extraction-fluoride ion-selective electrode method to determine water-soluble fluoride ions in soil.A constant-temperature incubator was used to precisely regulate extraction temperature,and ultrasonication extraction was followed by rotational oscillation to keep the soil sample thoroughly mixed with extraction solution.The effects of extraction times and extraction types on the determination of water-soluble fluorides in soil were investigated by the improved method.The results showed that the temperature during ultrasonication extraction was maintained at 25±0.5℃in the constant-temperature incubator,which was more stable and operationally simpler.Rotational oscillation after ultrasonication extraction could effectively mitigate sample agglomeration and reduce total extraction time.The optimized pretreatment conditions were achieved with ultrasonication extraction for 20 minutes and rotational oscillation for 10 minutes using 100 ml centrifuge tubes as extraction vessels within the constant-temperature incubator.The accuracy and precision of the improved method were demonstrated by 12 replicated experiments of certified reference materials GBW07458,GBW07459,GBW07460,GBW07461.The determination results were all within the standard range.The relative errors was-9.3%~6.9%and the relative standard deviations was 2.4%~10.4%.This improved method had good reproducibility and simple operation,therefore could offer greater advantages for the determination of water-soluble fluoride in large numbers of soil samples.
