Abstract
Peony root bark extract was evaluated through a series of biochemical and cellular experiments to investigate its whitening,anti-inflammatory,sebum-regulating,anti-acne,and anti-Malassezia activities.At a concentration of 2.0%,the extract significantly inhibited melanin synthesis(86.43%);reduced inflammatory cytokine secretion(IL-1α to 4.94 pg/mL and IL-6 to 6.42 pg/mL)in RAW264.7 macrophages;and decreased Nile red fluorescence in SZ95 sebaceous gland cells by 57.5%.After 20 minutes of exposure,the antibacterial rate against Propionibacterium acnes reached 37.7%,and the average inhibitory rate against Malassezia furfur was 78.1%.These results demonstrate that peony root bark extract provides multifunctional skincare benefits,supporting its potential as a natural and effective cosmetic ingredient.关键词
