Signal identification of higher-order QAM based on constellation diagram and continuous phase difference

Abstract
Constellation diagram,as a key feature for modulation recognition,offers distinct advantages in the field of signal classification.To address the difficulty of clustering constellation diagrams under low Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)conditions,a high-order Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(QAM)identification method is proposed based on the continuous phase difference of constellation points.Exploiting the symmetry of the diagram,the constellation is first divided into quadrants;then,employing K-medoids clustering,the continuous phase difference of each cluster center is computed.The modulation type is finally determined from the range of these phase differences.The approach requires no prior knowledge of the signal,needs no threshold training,and features simple parameter extraction and low computational complexity.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms subtraction-clustering and ordering-based clustering structure recognition,namely Ordering Points To Identify the Clustering Structure(OPTICS);when the SNR exceeds 15 dB,the recognition accuracy surpasses 90%.关键词
