Marine carbon sink supply chain operational decision-making under digital insurance mechanism

Abstract
Ocean carbon sink insurance is an effective means of hedging the marine disaster risks,but it faces problems such as insuf-ficient demand and difficulties in assessing damages.To explore the empowerment pathways of digital technology for ocean carbon sink insurance,this study constructed an operational decision-making model of the marine carbon sink supply chain composed of a blue car-bon supplier,an insurance company,and carbon sink demanders.It solved the optimal seeding quantity decisions of marine carbon sink CCER and carbon-inclusive projects and optimal insurance price decisions under the general and digital insurance mechanisms and fur-ther explored the impact of digital technology on the operational decision and income of each player in the marine carbon sink supply chain.On this basis,it also analyzed the digital insurance design strategies when the carbon inclusive price disadvantage was enhanced and the carbon price increased.The results found that:① Digital insurance improved the expected return of the insurance company but had both positive and negative effects on the expected utility of the blue carbon supplier.When the cost of digital technology was con-trolled within a reasonable threshold and the effect of"remote sensing data+AI"technology on improving loss assessment accuracy ex-ceeded the impact of immersive perception technology on improving perceived risk level,both the blue carbon supplier and the insur-ance company benefited from digital insurance at the same time.② When the disadvantages of carbon-inclusive price were enhanced,adopting digital insurance with the immersive perception technology to raise the perceived risk level beyond a certain threshold could mitigate the negative impact of the enhanced carbon-inclusive price disadvantages on both sides.③ When the carbon price increased,adopting digital insurance with the"remote sensing data+AI"technology to raise the loss assessment accuracy beyond a certain thresh-old could enhance the positive impact of the carbon sink price increase on both sides.This research provides a theoretical basis for the risk management strategies of blue carbon suppliers and the digital insurance design strategies of insurance companies.关键词
