Effects of Planting Density on Population Traits and Yield Formation in Hybrid Early Rice Lingliangyou 268 under the"Rice-Ratoon Rice-Rapeseed"Cultivation System

Abstract
To investigate the effects of planting density on population characteristics and yield formation of hybrid early rice Lingliangyou 268 under the rice-ratooning oilseed crop system,a field experiment was conducted in 2024 in Jinjing Town,Changsha County,Hunan Province.A randomized block design was adopted,with three transplanting density treatments(D1:210 000 hills/hm2,21 cm×22 cm;D2:255 000 hills/hm2,19 cm×20 cm;D3:300 000 hills/hm2,18 cm×18 cm).A comparative analysis was performed on rice yield,yield components,dry matter accumulation,light interception rate,and extinction coefficient for both the main season and the ratoon season across the different treatments.The results showed that compared to the D3 treatment,the D2 treatment significantly increased the canopy light interception rate,extinction coefficient,and non-structural carbohydrate content in the rice stubble at the heading stage of the ratoon season by 4.68 percentage points,37.64%,and 3.59%,respectively.It also significantly increased the dry matter accumulation at maturity of the ratoon season by 14.55%,and significantly increased the ratoon season yield and annual yield by 20.12%and 7.33%,respectively.Compared to the D1 treatment,the D2 treatment significantly increased the canopy PAR interception rate and the non-structural carbohydrate content in the rice stubble at the heading stage of the ratoon season by 1.49 percentage points and 22.45%,respectively.It also significantly increased the dry matter accumulation at maturity of the ratoon season by 1.31%,and significantly increased the ratoon season yield and annual yield by 7.52%and 3.57%,respectively.The yield increase was attributed to a higher number of effective panicles and a higher seed-setting rate in the ratoon season.There were no significant differences in the main season yield among the treatments.Comprehensive analysis indicates that for Lingliangyou 268 under the rice-ratooning oilseed crop system,a planting density of 255 000 hills/hm2 can achieve the goal of high annual yield in the ratoon rice system.关键词
