Accelerated thermal aging life prediction of high-speed train brake hose

Abstract
The brake hose of a high-speed train plays a crucial role in ensuring the flow of air and the transmission of braking commands during train operation.Accurately assessing and predicting the thermal aging life of the brake hose under complex service conditions is key to ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the train.This study aimed to explore effective methods for lifespan evaluation and aging characterization of brake hoses with different specifications used in high-speed trains.By establishing an Arrhenius-based lifespan prediction model for hose rubber materials,this research presented theoretical foundation for lifespan assessment.Additionally,a method based on the degradation of elongation at break was proposed to characterize the aging degree of hose rubber materials.Thermal aging experiments were conducted using four different specifications of standard dumbbell-shaped hose samples.For each specification,five aging temperatures and six aging durations were set,resulting in 30 distinct thermal aging conditions.Finally,elongation at break data of the aged hose samples were obtained through tensile testing.A predictive model relating aging rate to aging temperature was successfully established.The results show that using this model,the service life of hoses with different specifications is evaluated,clearly presenting the aging trends and lifespan of different hoses under various conditions.The method proposed in this paper,by establishing the Arrhenius life prediction model and the aging characterization method based on the elongation at break,and combining the comparison of thermal aging tests and tensile tests,can provide a scientific and reliable basis for the evaluation of the thermal aging life of the service environment of high-speed train hoses.It is expected to be widely applied in practical engineering,helping to improve the safety and reliability of train operation.关键词
