The Incentive Effect of Skill-Based Wage Collective Bargaining on Workers'Skills

摘要

Abstract

Compared with general wage collective bargaining,skill-based wage collective bargaining further strengthens the incentive for employees to enhance their skills.Based on questionnaire survey data from Deqing County,Zhejiang Province,spanning from 2023 to 2024,the current study employs econometric empirical methods to analyze over 3000 enterprise-employee matched samples.The findings indicate that skill-based wage collective bargaining significantly enhances employees'income satisfaction—particularly among technical workers,markedly improves their job stability,fosters their career development,and strengthens their sense of self-fulfillment.By promoting skill enhancement and corresponding income growth,skill-based wage collective bargaining helps alleviate and mitigate issues such as skill talent shortages and high employee turnover faced by enterprises amid current macroeconomic pressures.This approach further aids enterprises in achieving the goal of"using skills to raise wages,using wages to retain talent,and using talent to stabilize enterprises".
