Evaluation method for software for analyzing fuel rod performance

Abstract
This study addresses the lack of methods to evaluate the software for analyzing fuel rod performance of nu-clear power plants.To this end,an evaluation process for China's independent software to analyze fuel rod perform-ance is proposed.The key evaluation aspects,such as the completeness and correctness of the theoretical model of the software and the sufficiency of its verification and validation,were identified based on research on fuel perform-ance safety criteria,model development data,and fuel performance mechanisms.Software validation is susceptible to problems such as the lack of test data and the failure of validation data to cover the applicable scope of applica-tion objects.Considering these problems,a method to judge the rationality of validation data extrapolation was pro-posed.The key evaluation points for verification calculations in evaluating the software were identified.In addition,a specific fuel rod was selected for calculating the cladding creep in an example of calculation result analysis:the cladding diameter of axial segments under different burnup levels was calculated,and the results were compared with the measured data from international benchmark problems.The calculated average P/M value was close to 1,with a relative error of±0.65%.This result confirms that the prediction results of the software have good conformi-ty,indicating that the proposed evaluation method is reasonable and feasible.关键词
