Abstract

Abstracted BTEX have"three-induced"effects and are seriously harmful to the environment and human body.Photocatalytic degradation of benzene series has no secondary pollution and high degradation efficiency.TiO2 has chemical stability and strong oxidation ability,and is widely used in photocatalytic degradation of benzene series.However,the delocalized large π bond structure of the benzene series is stable,and the ring-opening degradation is difficult.Moreover,the band gap of pure TiO2 is large,the light response range is narrow,and the recombination rate of photogenerated holes(h+)and electrons(e-)is high.The photocatalytic performance of TiO2 is improved by modification methods such as elemental doping,defect engineering and morphology control.The ring-opening mechanism and conversion mechanism of different kinds of benzene series are different under different reaction conditions.Revealing the ring-opening and conversion mechanism of benzene series is the premise for improving the photocatalytic purification efficiency of benzene series.The research on photocatalytic degradation of benzene series focuses on material design and performance optimization,but the development of efficient,stable and low-cost photocatalysts for benzene series is still a challenging problem.The photocatalytic degradation mechanism of benzene series is controversial,and the reaction path and intermediate properties are unknown Therefore,revealing the modification strategy of high-efficiency TiO2-based photocatalyst and elucidating the degradation and ring-opening mechanism of benzene series have a guiding role in synthesizing high-efficiency catalysts and improving the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of benzene series.This review focused on the degradation of gaseous benzene series by TiO2 catalytic materials,summarized the commonly used TiO2 modification methods and the latest progress in the degradation of benzene series,and discussed the degradation path and reaction mechanism of TiO2 photocatalytic degradation of several common benzene series and mixed gases.
