Survey and Identification of Major Insect Pests and Diseases Caused by Pathogenic Fungi in Greenhouse Cultivated Inonotus hispidus

Abstract
With an aim to provide a scientific base and practical guidance for pest and disease control of Inonotus hispidus,a systematic investigation was conducted in a cultivation greenhouse of Xiajin County,Shandong Province,where insect pests and diseases occurred severely in I.hispidus.A method by combining the fixed-point measurements and field surveys was employed to monitor the environmental conditions of temperature and humidity within the greenhouse as well as the occurrence of pests and diseases.Incidence rates of major pests and diseases were statistically analyzed by using a five-point sampling method.Pathogenic fungi were identified through the inoculation tests and the conformation with their preliminary species based on the results of morphological observations,microscopic analysis,and ITS sequencing as well.Classification of insect pests was performed according to their morphological characteristics.Our results indicated that the major pests and diseases affecting I.hispidus growth in greenhouses were fungal infection,deformity of fruiting body as well as infection and feeding damage by fungus gnats and insects.The occurrence of pests and diseases might be related to too high temperature and humidity levels present within the greenhouses.During the first wave of occurrence(April-June 2024),surveys of the major pests and diseases affecting Inonotus hispidus revealed that three incidence rates of fungal diseases,fruiting body deformity and insect pests were 67%,0.5%and 14%,respectively.During the second wave of occurrence(July-September 2024),on the other hand,the above three incidence rates changed to 54%,63%and 25%.Preliminary identification indicated that the major pathogenic fungi belonged to Penicillium gravinicasei,Aspergillus niger,A.flavus,and A.ochraceus while the main insect pests included Drosophila melanogaster and Asiomorpha coarctata.Our findings thereafter should provide a foundation and useful reference for the future efforts on to control the pests and diseases of I.hispidus cultured in the greenhouses of this region.关键词
